Baby Flops

Aren't Baby feet the cutest thing in the world? This is obviously The Girl's darling little 3 month old feet. (She hated the flip-flops by the way. Give it a few more years.)

Once there was a snowman

This is The Boy's first snowman. He was pretty excited about it. He screamed when we had to come inside. Can you believe we have snow? Pretty exciting. The Boy was singing "Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman..." all day long.

Time Flies

Time flies when your having fun doesn't it. I guess I think that time just flies period. The Girl is only 3 months old and already has her two front bottom teeth. She was just barely getting adjusted to life outside the womb and WHAM- teething. Sad for her; poor girl, she just doesn't know what hit her. Life is great. She is doing well sleeping at night. I still get up really early with her, but she is sleeping much longer than The Boy ever did.

The Boy just loves life and Bob the Builder. He is always going around the house shouting "CAN" (you know the song- "Can we build it?- Yes we CAN"). He is going to be two years old soon. I just can't believe it. He also has this fixation with making everything into a little family (I didn't teach him this one). He got some new hotwheel cars the other day and has named one the "daddy" car, one the "mommy" car and the little one is the "baby" car. He says baby in a cute little high pitched voice.

Well this mommy car is signing out for now.

Articles

HELLO???
I don't know how many articles I read that have the same idea. Mom's need to take care of themselves first.
"You really are a better mother when your needs are met," they promise.
"You can't take care of your children unless you are taken care of,". Isn't this just a load of crap? I can totally understand the whole concept, but does any mother out there really get a chance to actually take care of themselves? I mean honestly, when was the last time you said to your screaming 3 month old, "It will be just a few minutes before I can feed you baby, I have to take a few minutes in the bathroom?" It just isn't realistic. It's more like this: Baby cries, mommy comes to the rescue, and the bathroom urge goes away for now. (where does it go?-- needless to say it will only come back as soon as both children are starving or their diapers are poopy). I wish I had what it takes to take a few minutes for myself now during the day, but I just keep telling myself, that is what the empty-nesting years are for, right?

Honey, I got it

Honey I got it covered!
Doesn't this sound familiar? It's usually the last comment I hear from The Man right before I catch The Boy doing something he shouldn't.
ie...
Last night I was excited to finally have 2 minutes to myself in the bathroom with the door actually closed tight when all became peacefully quiet for a little too long (see Previous Post #6). I called out to The Man "Hey are you watching The Boy"?

"Honey I got it covered," he yells back.
Cue mommy: enter master bedroom and catch the boy with mommy's make-up all over his face. Although it was dang cute, we've got to work on this "Honey, I've got it covered" situation!

Lost!

As The Boy and I were hanging out in the family room, he slipped in the closet to play the ever-popular "where is The Boy" game. "Honey, where are you?" I called out with feigned interest. The next thing I hear is this sad little voice from the closet, "lost" says the voice.
